Finding Hope and Healing In Christianity

It is unfortunate that all too often in the church instead of providing comfort to others, especially other Christians, we tend to kick people when they’re down. We don’t offer help for hurting people the way we should. It’s no wonder that often Christians have such a bad name. Instead of showing the love and generosity Christ has shown us by dying for us, instead we treat others the way we feel about ourselves, and that’s usually bad.

Author Acacia Slaton Beumer knows first hand about suffering, as well as trouble, and her goal is to help those who are suffering find comfort, hope, and love in the words and deeds of Jesus Christ. Through a series of essays, which include poetry, exercises, scripture, stories and other tools, she shows you how to find the hope and healing in your life that you need.

Not only does she use stories from her own life to tell this, she also uses stories from the lives of others she has known. The stories are raw, demonstrating grief and loss, as well as the suffering we sometimes suffer when those who are supposed to support us and love us undercut us instead.

I particularly liked reading the stories. The reason is that through stories we can often use our stories to do two things. First, it helps others to identify with us, to understand that they are not alone. Although it doesn’t make our suffering any easier, it does give us comfort to know that others have gone through some of the same things we have, and so we know there’s a way out of our trouble. Second, our stories allow us to communicate truth. Jesus said that truth would set us free.

One thing I did see in this ebook that I disagree with is generational curse. (Generational curse is where one of your ancestors does something that causes you to suffer for their “sins.” This isn’t in the Bible.)

I don’t believe in this, and I don’t believe that the Bible doesn’t support it. Although parents and family can mistreat us in such a way that we repeat destructive patterns, these are still a choice. What’s important here though is all the quality information that is available. Honestly, I think there would be something wrong if we agreed on everything about the Bible, so instead of focusing on one point in this ebook, it’s best to focus on all the good information in it.

Otherwise, there’s some really good information in this ebook that you will find helpful. Help and healing seem to be in short supply in this world, so if you are looking to find comfort, and you want to find it in the love of Jesus Christ, then read this ebook. It offers lots of helpful information.

The book is called: Launch Out Into The Deep! [Kindle Edition]
