Spanish Children's Books - Help You Learn Spanish

Spanish children’s books are a great tool for learning Spanish. Beginners and intermediates alike can benefit from reading Spanish children’s books, they can boost their vocabulary and generally help them learn the language.

It may seem like a weird thing to recommend but it really works. Just buy a few Spanish children’s books and try for yourself. You will be able to read the books much easier as they are written in simple language which is basic and of course, meant for children.

Images and pictures will help you understand words before you even learn them and will help you get the gist of the story even if you do not understand everything it says. You may even like to pick a book in Spanish which you have already read or remember from your childhood reading in English. There are many books that have been translated, famous children’s books like the hungry caterpillar of the tiger comes to tea. You no doubt know those stories, so reading them in Spanish will be eye opening for your Spanish language skills and will introduce you to new words and terms you probably will not even come across in a Spanish language lesson.

You may even be learning Spanish at the same time as your children, so reading these books together will be a great family exercise and will help you all to Baruch up on your skills and of course help your children with their general literacy skills. As your Spanish gets better go for more advanced children’s books, follow age guidelines and read books for older children, improving the books as your Spanish improves. Read with a friend or colleague, or someone from your Spanish class, Take turns reading to each other without look at the book to see how your listening Spanish skills are doing.

Ask each other questions in Spanish at the end of the reading sessions to see how much you have understood. This is a great way to help you with your Spanish. You will enjoy it too. Get Spanish speaking friends to recommend great Spanish books for your to start reading. Share the books amongst your class, take turns and even take time to lessons with you. You will be surprised by how much you learn.
