Women Sleuths Mystery Books

These are the most wonderful afternoon reading books you can find. Where else but in women’s mind could she find a gruesome dead body, solve the murder, run her own business, overcome trials and tribulations in her life, and always have the best looking boyfriend in town?

Many of the characters have businesses such as yarn shops, needle shops, catering businesses, food writers, tea houses, bookstores, and small farms. Ninety percent of these books come with recipes or patterns. Most of the books are about 275-350 pages in length and just fun to read.

Here are a few of my favorite authors and just a few of their many mystery books:

Nancy Fairbanks — Her character is a food writer — Books come with wonderful recipes

Crime Brulee — Set in New Orleans

Truffled Feathers — Set in New York

Chocolate Quake — Set in San Francisco

Claudia Bishop — Her character owns a B&B with her sister — Books come with recipes

A Puree of Poison

Monica Ferris — Her character owns a needle works shop — All books come with a needle works pattern

Crewel Yule — Set in Nashville during a snow storm

Crewel World — Which I believe is the first in the series

A Stitch in Time

Hanging by a Thread Cutwork — This was the first one I read and have been hooked since

Earline Fowler — Her Character is a small museum curator in Southern California — Each book has a quilt block pattern

There are many others I enjoy also and will add to the list. There are always the Cat Who Mysteries, and any book written by M.C. Beaton
