I just finished reading “Blogger: Beyond the Basics” by Lee Jordan. As a professional blogger and owner of a blog network, I like to stay in the loop and I read almost every book that is published on the topic of blogging. I am not very impressed with most offerings, but I can say that I was pleasantly surprised when I read this one. This is a great resource guide for all bloggers, especially beginners.
This resource focuses on the Blogger platform to create your blog, which is in my opinion, the easiest way to get started. This book will equip you with everything you need to start getting published on the web. The author writes in a simple and engaging style that allows you to follow along and most importantly absorb what is being written.
I love the way the book is set up, he provides great tips and information and then applies it to a new blog that he set up. As the book continues, so too does the evolution of the blog. This is a great tactic because you get to see the tips in action and see the results in real time. I also like how the book is indexed, they make it simple to look up any topic you want. My favorite section is the chapter that focuses on boosting readership because we all know that you can have great content, but if nobody reads it, then what is the point.
In closing, I recommend this book to all bloggers, it will be most useful to beginners and intermediate level.
